1.9 Gbps Over 4G network, How ?
Now, it’s time to explain in brief that what they actually have achieved. Yes, first of all, it is a new world record mobile speed within a 4G network. Finnish operator, Elisa along with the China’s Huawei have achieved a rate of 1.9 Gbps. But, Elisa is the first operator to get such a high speed over a 4G mobile network. The vice president of the mobile division of Elisa, Sami Komulainen already affirmed that this is a new record in the race for 5G networks. In addition, he stated that “we note that this is a great opportunity to show that 4G networks still have a lot to offer and that can not be left in oblivion with the advent of a new technology, hence, we will even be able to offer mobile data connections of several gigabits per second to our customers”. At present, the maximum speed offered by this Finnish operator to its customers is 450 Mbps, while the maximum subscription only allows 300 Mbps. Skimming 2,000 Mbps involves multiplying almost fivefold the current maximum speed. In this way, users could easily access more advanced services from their mobile devices. However, we must accommodate the increasing demand for more speed and capacity to run new services on smartphones. Without going any further, the transmission of real-time video and 360 degrees or virtual reality are two major things of the fields that can be benefited from the faster navigation from the smartphones.
