Samsung to Shift all of its Devices from Android to Tizen OS
As we all know, Samsung is Google’s biggest partner when it comes to android OS. However, Samsung seems to be expanding the utilization of its Tizen OS which is typically found in some of Samsung’s TVs, wearables furthermore in some smartphones. An anonymous company executive said to Samsung that Tizen OS had the potential to replace Android on all Samsung devices “If you don’t have your own ecosystem, then you will have no future. Tizen isn’t just a platform developed for use with mobile devices,” said an anonymous company executive. While admitting that Samsung has attempted to enhance and build up its native programs, he expressed that things are improving at Samsung. The executive also stated that Samsung launched the Z series smartphone Z1 and Z3 in the market to see Tizen’s performance. The executive said “Samsung’s Z-branded Tizen-powered phones are popular with Indian consumers. During the first quarter of this year, Samsung sold about 64 million phones there. This means that Tizen is proving its competitiveness,”. The executive also said “Samsung Tizen allows developers to make corrections, if necessary, and to redistribute updates to others” As per the reports, Samsung Electronics is looking to expand the Tizen support on its Smartwatches, Smart TVs and smart refrigerators, etc. We also have seen the development of Samsung’s wearable devices which operate on Tizen. Of course, Samsung’s plans look great, but it still sounds overstimulated for some reasons. We previously saw due to the lack of app and support of developers failure of Windows 10 mobile. So the question that arises here is whether Tizen OS be worth the risk of losing customers who are unwilling to switch from Android.
