Daemon’s Neck Rash in House of the Dragon Explained
From the looks of it, the rash on Daemon’s neck in House of the Dragon appears to be some kind of battle scar. A popular fan theory has been floating around since the early episodes of House of the Dragon, arguing that Daemon contracted grayscale. After all, he did come in contact with Crabfeeder—who was covered from head to toe with the disease—and practically bathed in his blood. However, it’s been many years since the war with Crabfeeder. Daemon had time to settle down with Laena Velaryon, have two kids, then marry Rhaenyra and have even more kids. If he had grayscale, someone would have contracted it at this point due to the disease being very contagious. Where did it come from then? Well, Daemon has had that “rash” since after he rushed Crabfeeder on the Stepstones, a move that resulted in him taking a few injuries along the way, hence, the mark on his neck. Now you have a better idea of what the rash on Daemon’s neck is in House of the Dragon. It’s also worth pointing out that the show doesn’t draw attention to the so-called rash.
